Join this highly interactive session where we’ll reflect, decompress, and get grounded as we prepare to transition into the month ahead.

While time spent reflecting takes away from actually ‘doing’ work, it is more effective long-term if we actually pause and take time to consider what we’re doing. Think of it as, slowing down to speed up!

What worked? What didn’t? What could be done differently moving forward to better support my team? My relationships? Our family? My health?

Fun Fact: John Dewey was an American psychologist and educational reformer, one of the most prominent scholars in the first half of the 20th century, who highlighted that reflection is a deliberate and active process. He suggested that reflection for learning should include recalling the event and then posing questions to explore why things turned out the way they did and what possible actions could have given a different outcome. Brilliant!

“We do not learn from experience. We learn from reflecting on experience.”

During this special end-of-the-month Salon Conversation, we’ll reflect, decompress, and get grounded as we prepare to transition into the month ahead. Please bring a notebook and writing utensil for this highly interactive, thought-provoking session.

What is a Salon Conversation?

Are you interested in participating in thought-provoking, interactive conversations all while making new friends and building our community?

The first salons can be traced to the early 17th century, when Parisian’s gathered to discuss social, political, artistic, and literary topics. Salon gatherings offer space for genuine exploration, the co-mingling of ideas, and the development of new thinking.

Please keep in mind that we strives to remain inclusive, inviting, and safe for those who wish to discuss and/or debate topics. No matter what, our discourse will always remain respectful. Regardless of point of view, mean-spirited agitation or intentionally hurtful responses are a quick way to end further discussion and you’ll be asked to leave.
